My husband is always telling me I need to listen more closely and dont take for granted that what people say is try I tend to be positive pollyanna and I need to question my thinking

One of my favorites!
My addition would be what source caused me to think this? Have I found it to be trustworthy?
This thinking helps to sort my thoughts…

Love the Gamache series…looking forward to the new book.

When I first read this line I had to reread it and really take it in. It reminds me of the admonition, “question authority.” Humans can get set in our ways, our patterns of thinking, believe our assumptions to be truths.

Keeping an open mind and really listening help to not believe everything we think!

On the other hand, don’t doubt everything you think. Don’t be so unsure of yourself that you can’t rely on your judgement.

This is a favorite. Test your thinking by reading other’s
thoughts and, to me , the most important is to open your mind and heart and use that “thoughtful listening”. So little true listening today. If we listen carefully to others through printed and vocal words, my goodness, we will learn and grow.

This hit me between the eyes when I first read it. Not sure d ever given myself permission to ignore what I think. Don’t believe everything you see- yes, but think! The idea and practice has made a difference
